Sport & Me is owned by Life-Work Potential. Jane Thurnell-Read, the proprietor, came to sport relatively late in life:
"I come from a non-sporting family and didn't really discover sport until I was 46, when I met John Payne (see pic on left). He was a keen cyclist and triathlete, and it was a question of 'If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!'.
"I found getting involved in sport made a real difference to my life. In fact 10 years later I rode across the USA from Seattle to north of Boston on a bike - it was 4200 miles, an epic journey that took 9 weeks."
"This web site is important to me, because I want to encourage people of all ages and abilities to get involved in physical activity and sport, just like I did.
"I also want to provide experienced sports people with information and thought-provoking articles about their favourite sport."
